Beautiful Home – Testimonial, August 2010

‘No regrets and everlasting appreciation’ is the best way that we can think of to sum up our experience having commissioned Jo McIntyre to design our home renovation / extension and it is with much delight that we provide this testimonial.

When we embarked on our project, never in our wildest dreams did we think that we would be living in such a wonderful creation and we have no hesitation in declaring that the amazing results were largely due to Jo.

Many words come to mind when we reflect on our experience and time spent working with Jo; consummate professional, dynamo, highly organised (always many steps ahead), unwavering support (she was with us every step of the way), passionate attention to detail, willingness to listen to our needs and adapt the designs to meet these needs, friendship and quite simply a design eye that many of her colleagues would die for.

However it’s not only Jo’s design talents that she brings to the table. Thanks to her wealth of experience Jo has an intimate knowledge of the complex building process and is always willing and able to provide advice and guidance throughout the entire project. She also applies an intelligent understanding of function to her beautiful designs; resulting in a floor plan that ‘works’. There is nothing in our design that we would want to change or wish we had done differently and now having lived in the home we continue to be delighted with its functionality, thereby making every-day living a pleasure and a breeze.

One last word about Jo; she takes on each project as if it was her own and works tirelessly to deliver a design and creation that she herself loves. It’s refreshing and extremely satisfying to work with someone who has as much passion invested in the project as you do and an imperative attribute to ensure a harmonious process and amazing end product.

Dear Jo
We would like to formally thank you for designing our dream home. You have been an absolute pleasure to work with and given our lack of experience in this area our security blanket all the way. We cannot thank you enough for your guidance, support and tireless work throughout the entire process.

When we purchased our land we had no idea of the type of house we wanted. We always loved the period style homes, but having seen some poor reproductions we did not think we could build an authentic one. As soon as we met with you and saw your work we felt confident that we could achieve our dream.

At the commencement of the project you undertook to design our home and to provide guidance through the build stage. We were thoroughly impressed by your dedication and attention to detail during the design stage which produced an amazing design far in excess of what we expected and hoped for.

Having worked through the design stage with you so closely it was with some nervousness that we embarked on the build phase. To our amazement and relief you were with us all the way. It took a huge amount of pressure off us (and gave us a significant amount of confidence) that both we and the builder could contact you at any time for questions or clarifications and you always made yourself available.

We can honestly say that the whole process has been relatively stress free for us and that this largely attributable to you. Whilst we have no intention of rebuilding or renovating in the future (now that we are in our dream home) we would have absolutely no hesitation in working with you again or recommending you to others in the future.

Throughout our entire renovation planning process, Jo has always been efficient, honest and professional.

Her attention to detail has been brilliant.

Her ability to create amazing storage areas for everything from school bags and DVD players to hanging out the washing is amazing.
I didn't think I could ever be this organised!

I have had a lot of friends recently who are renovating, use architects who have designed grandiose plans.
They have paid an absolute fortune for the plans and in 3 separate occasions the clients have been unable to use the plans, as the clients initial budget brief has been extended by hundreds of thousands of dollars.

As a mother of three, I'm always interested in finding better organisation and storage solutions to make our busy lifestyle more calm and relaxed And I have to say, this is Jo's specialty. I look to Jo knowing as a mother of a growing family herself, she has already been where I am about to go -and makes the whole journey look streamlined and effortless. Jo has also achieved this for us through her creative and bespoke approach and subsequent design.
